Across the generations
Whether or not you believe in fundamental generational dissimilarities as commonly typified by the Generation X, Y, Boomers and Seniors terminology, there is no doubt that different age groups have different views, attitudes and aspirations.
We see this as a positive and beneficial aspect of workplace life but also recognise that it can cause difficulties in identifying and meeting the requirements of various age-related groups, including the need for diverse approaches to come together to support the overall business needs.
The situation is further complicated by differences which may be linked to gender, race and disability and alongside this, personal circumstances, an individual's particular role within the organization and their personal motivation for advancement.
Our input lies in helping you establish policies and procedures which balance diversity with inclusivity, ensuring that individual and team strengths are built upon and individual and group needs are adequately addressed.
The key is communication, ensuring appropriate channels and messages for all employees at every age and every level, supported by a structure and culture that allows a natural information flow across age and other potential barriers.
