Giving Back (Charitable Work and Social Enterprise)

In my prime is for all active mature people. Charity work, social enterprise or some other form of “giving back” may be for you. Here we identify some websites worth looking at or organisations which have asked us to highlight their activities.

Community Interest Companies

A CIC is a new type of company, launched in 2005, designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good. Social enterprises tackle a wide range of social and environmental issues and this is seen as a more modern structure to enable such enterprises to operate. By January 2006 there were already over 100 CICs in existence.
