Going
out is great, but not if you constantly
feel you have to restrict yourself to
things which are ‘suitable for your
age’. Quite rightly, rock concerts
and music festivals are heavily populated
by the over 50s (on stage and in the audience),
and myriad other events – including
art exhibitions, fashion shows, sports
events and charity promotions - are all
the same. So if you’re under the
misapprehension that these events are
just for ‘yoof’, forget it
– go and enjoy!
The
downside of going out is that it can be
expensive, but it doesn’t have to
be. There seem to be a plethora of websites
focused on separating the ‘wealthy’
over 50s from their money, but whether
or not you’re fortunate enough to
have plenty of money to spare, we don’t
think that’s the point. Our focus
is much more on some of the less obvious
(and expensive) but highly enjoyable things
to do that might open up new avenues of
enjoyment and be just up your street now
you’re in your prime.
