Employment

Change your job or career

It’s never too late to start again.  You can re-train, work in a completely different environment, start at the bottom, go in at the top. Just don’t let yourself be limited by what you think you're able to do – the range of opportunities is likely to be far, far greater.

One of the things that has changed since most in my primers left school or university and embarked upon their working lives is the huge range of different jobs which are available these days. Jobs which you couldn't imagine exist, but which are out there now and possibly waiting for you.

So don't limit yourself by what you think you know when it comes to assessing what you might do - get yourself out there and find out!

Downshift in your present job

Perhaps you're one of the lucky ones - you love your job and don't want to do anything else. But what you would like would be better work/life balance, a bit more time for you. Here again, these days the opportunities are limitless if you only take the time to work them out.

Most employers are far more accommodating and flexible than you might imagine when presented with a good case for a change in working hours - after all, if they value you as an employee, they're going to do all they can to keep you.

So research the possibilities and decide what you want - the result could be mutually beneficial for both your employer and you.
